Your sailing instructor
Your sailing instructor Thomas has Long-standing experience as instructor and skipper on board Sea and on Inland waters.
Training program
The sailing yacht and its equipment. Setting and hoisting sails, reefing, sail trim. Sailing according to wind and compass on various courses.
Turn, heel, Q-turn, reverse, lay down. Hitching on buoy and dock, «man overboard» maneuver. General maritime skills (knots, securing the ship, ship safety, fundamentals of ship handling). Preparation for the exam Category D.
Training duration
The duration of the training varies depending on the individual's qualifications. approx. 12 to 18 lessons 2 hours to reach the exam level.
The sailing school can according to your wishes and availability in Blocks as a half-day course, Full-day course or in Lessons of 120 minutes We would be happy to discuss with you the appropriate option and its advantages and disadvantages.

Our specially developed comprehensive training materials include, in addition to the written materials, Videos of all maneuvers and are included in the training price. The documents will be handed over to you during your first lesson.

The ‚Robina‘ is probably the best training ship on Lake Zurich. Its best qualities are sportiness, very good maneuverability and it combines safety in strong winds with speed in light winds.
On our yacht, sea feeling is already included. The Grand Surprise is a French racing boat of the highest standard, which can also be used for high-sea maneuvers.

The Robina Boot School professionally and effortlessly guided me through my motorboat exam. The support and training provided by Andi and his team were a dream. Communication was straightforward and very positive. They also showed great patience in learning the maneuvers and were able to provide me with a great deal of confidence. The motorboat practice sessions were a real enrichment! With a lot of patience, heart, and expertise, everything was explained in a clear way, while creating a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Hello Robina team,
To prepare for my D-License and subsequently obtain my Offshore License, I took all the lessons with the Robina team, which enabled me to receive a good education not only for the practical driver's license exam but also for sailing in general. I passed the exam on my first attempt and am very satisfied with it. The theoretical courses can be completed independently; the official book and the online application are very helpful in preparing for the multiple-choice theory exam.

I completed the sailing training at Robina in 2023 and passed the exam in October 2023 on my first attempt.
The sailing instructors were always highly motivated and were able to convey the sailing craft very well.

The Robina Sailing School is a professional sailing school that offers a high standard in terms of quality: At the beginning, documents are submitted for theory and practice. On the website, you can also find videos of the most important maneuvers. Our sailing instructor was named Stefan and has been thoroughly trained; he was able to convey the techniques competently and also has a good sense of humor. He also has a good ginger tea recipe.
My personal recommendation is to take the theory test as early as possible and then take an intensive course; we had two weeks of brisk winds in April; what came our way; if possible, in pairs; that way you learn from each other.

The whole training process up to the D-license was simply a great time with Stefan. He has a great ability to convey information that allows you to quickly store what you have learned. At the Robina Sailing School I took my sailing license. With teacher Stefan, the preparation was great and it was incredibly fun! On Lake Zurich you can sail superbly and you make unique, educational experiences (dealing with racing boats, fishing boats, swimmers, etc.). You get used to the school boat very quickly and the equipment is good. My conclusion is great and I can only recommend the sailing school!
